Kathryn Hill, DVM
Dr. Kathryn Standiford

Originally from Metro-Detroit, Dr. Standiford comes from a family of engineers with her brother and father in the automotive industry. Her mother was a nurse, but is now an elementary school teacher.

She graduated the University of Michigan in 2010 with a bachelor’s of science, earned her doctorate at Michigan State University in 2014 and accepted a one-year position at Purdue University as a Small Animal Rotating Intern where she was exposed to a wide variety of cases.

She has a strong passion for emergency medicine, and urgent care. She loves helping our clients understand the medical needs of their pets, and will be with them through the difficult situations when their animals need medical attention.

Dr. Standiford is a USDA accredited veterinarian, as well as a member of the National, Michigan and Indiana veterinary medical associations. She highly values continued education and staying active in the veterinary community for staying up to date as a practicing veterinarian.

Dr. Standiford grew up with plenty of large breed dogs, generally shepherd/lab/hound mixes in addition to budgies, fish, and hermit crabs and once a hedgehog named Remmy.

She now has a black Labrador retriever named Lola who was adopted from a shelter in Flint, MI. She always has a toy in her mouth, and loves to greet people at the door, wagging her tail and demanding belly rubs! She is a very sweet girl who loves all people and gets along with other dogs. She is a great vacuum cleaner, eating any food that drops onto the floor! She often times sneaks up on the couch when no one is home, which she KNOWS is not allowed! She will do anything for a treat or a pet on the head! However, she only knows two tricks, ‘shake’ and ‘roll over’. No matter what you try to teach her, this is all she’ll learn!

“Animals bring such joy to our lives, and caring for them has always been a passion of mine. While growing up, I looked up to our veterinarian and loved the way he treated our pets like family. Each animal is so special. They can’t tell us what’s wrong, and I try my best to figure out what ails my patients. I love practicing medicine, and providing the highest quality of care to our furry friends in need.“
