Raven Hein, DVM

Born in Michigan, Dr. Raven Hein considers the Midwest home and was drawn back to enjoy the seasons. Dr. Hein has always loved animals of all walks of life and she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University. Following this, she spent 6 months living on-site at a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Delphi, IN. Where she grew greater compassion in helping animals who have been affected or displaced by human-nature interactions. During this time she found her love for raptors, aka birds of prey. In January 2025 she finally received her doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in the West Indies.

Her favorite moments in veterinary medicine are watching the human-animal bond grow over a life-time and “wiggling” into an exam room with an excitable pup. She is interested in soft tissue surgery, the beauty of a good cytology slide, and aiding in wildlife rehabilitation.

Currently she has two cats, Jessie and James, but hopes to add a canine friend to the mix. She grew up with pit bulls but also holds a secret love for basset hounds. When not at work Dr. Hein enjoys running, reading, drawing, or crocheting in her downtime. However, she may need a reminder of this every once and a while.
